Heritage & Appearance
Brown Leghorns first arrived in North America during the 19th century and later played an important role in the development of the commercial poultry industry. Through selective breeding, including crosses with Minorca chickens, they became one of the foundation breeds for modern egg production.
Their elegant appearance, colorful feather patterns, and upright posture make them one of the most attractive Mediterranean breeds.
Temperament & Hardiness
Brown Leghorns are active, athletic, and excellent foragers, making them one of the best breeds for free-range environments. They mature early, are highly resilient, and adapt well to a wide range of climates, especially regions with four distinct seasons.
These birds tend to be flighty and independent, preferring space over frequent human interaction. Their alert nature also helps them avoid predators, making them an excellent choice for experienced poultry keepers.
Healthy, Quality Chicks
At Happier Hatching, we’re committed to providing healthy, vigorous Brown Leghorn Chicks, backed by our Live Arrival Guarantee. With their outstanding egg production, beautiful appearance, and hardy nature, Brown Leghorns are an excellent choice for anyone seeking a productive and reliable laying breed.
