First Saturday Lime Insect Deterrent, 20LB – Natural Repellent for Outdoors

First Saturday Lime is a natural insect deterrent designed to be sprinkled outdoors wherever insect activity needs to be discouraged. It’s intended for use as a repellent, not for treating active infestations — if pests are already established in an area, treat the infestation first, then use First Saturday Lime to help keep it from returning.

Ingredients:

• Citric Acid (0.1%)
• Calcite (99.9%)

Directions:

Sprinkle the deterrent evenly over the area where you are trying to prevent insect activity. Apply in areas where insects are most active, or where ant hills or nests have been spotted. For coop use, sprinkle a 1/8-inch layer across coop bedding (on top of or under mats) to help deter mites, reduce moisture buildup, and naturally reduce stubborn odors.

Using Lime in Chicken Coops:

Agricultural-type lime products like First Saturday Lime (calcite-based, not caustic hydrated lime) are commonly used in coops and runs to help control moisture and odor, discourage mites and lice, and support a cleaner bedding environment. As with any coop additive, apply in thin layers to avoid dust, ensure good coop ventilation, and monitor your flock after first use.
